Design Forward Conference (2017)
Design Forward was a multi-day design conference held in San Diego in 2017, organized by the Design Forward Alliance in collaboration with civic, academic, and commercial partners, including UC San Diego’s Design Lab. I served as design and brand lead, responsible for developing the conference identity and overseeing its application across environmental graphics, marketing, and on-site experiences.
The role focused on establishing a cohesive brand system that could operate clearly across a temporary, high-visibility environment while supporting diverse programming and venues. The identity was applied across signage, stage environments, wayfinding, and digital and printed materials, requiring consistency across a temporary, high-visibility environment.
In parallel with creative development, I coordinated closely with conference organizers to ensure brand usage and attribution aligned with stakeholder expectations within a multi-partner, institutional context. I led a small cross-functional design team through execution, balancing creative expression with restraint to deliver a durable identity for a public-facing event.
