Product Etc Creative Director, Jordan Stark, took part of the 2nd annual Cross City art show at La Bodega Gallery in San Diego. Below is a recap of his latest work. Show is on display until December 2nd, 2014. La Bodega Gallery / 12-5pm / 2196 Logan Ave, San Diego, CA 92113
For the past 18 weeks (19th today), every Friday at 4pm we’ve held a forum of sorts that we like to call Creative Friday. The rules are simple: if you’re present, you have to present. So you have nothing tangible? No big deal, we know you have something to share; so tell us a story, sing us a song, or if it fits you, do a little dance. The idea is to share with others, and be held accountable for … Read More
2014 marks the second year we’ve been invited as partners to participate in the annual Pow! Wow! Hawai‘i festival. Upon making arrangements to fly out to Hawai‘i, we let some of our friends and colleagues know what we had brewing. Two of our good friends decided to make the journey with us. Garvin Ha, film-maker and director, and rhyme-sayer Andre Travis (a.k.a. Dre Trav from WatsToday). The following images paint a broad portrait of what the Pow! Wow! and Oahu … Read More
Last month I was invited to participate in a group show titled “Cross City,” held at the Voz Alta gallery in Barrio Logan. The theme of the show was to bring together emerging young artists from both sides of the San Diego (US) and Tijuana (Mexico) border region. I was happy to be invited, and planned on showing an encaustic painting I had recently began working on. Adrian Garcia from Con Design House, who curated the show, asked me if … Read More
This weekend I decided to take a dip out of San Diego, and head north to check out Takashi Murakami’s “Arhat” exhibition at Blum & Poe in Culver City. For those unfamiliar with Murakami, he’s an artist / toymaker / animated filmmaker / entrepreneur from Japan. You may of seen his work if you’re familiar with the likes of Kanye West, or Louis Vuitton. Ever since I saw the huge ©Murakami retrospective at the MOCA in 2008, I’ve kept tabs … Read More
We just finished this short for Knockaround & Pow Wow Hawai’i. It documents the Pow Wow Hawai’i / Fort Knocks 1, and features just a handful of the great people and talented artists we met during Pow Wow 2013. Really hope we’re able to take part and contribute next year! Someway! Somehow! Special thanks: All our team members, Team Knockaround, Team Pow Wow Hawai’i, and every single artist we met and who gave us their time. Stoked.
Let me take a second to introduce a friend of mine, Braydon Fuller. He’s always been a badass designer and web developer since we started college close to a decade ago. Since last year, he’s also been operating as an artist using conventional mediums to address topics such as: copyright law, free software, hacking culture, internet privacy, and his beefs with social-media platforms such as Twitter, and Facebook. When he’s not making art or developing for the web, he has … Read More
Tomorrow The Spot, in San Diego’s Barrio Logan, will be poppin’ off for the Vision + Sound Art Show. We are excited and honored to be a part of this group show curated by Con of San Diego. Show starts at 6pm, and of course there will be plenty of drinks and live music. Here’s a peek at some 18×24 wood prints we will be selling tomorrow. The editions will be small and they’re all hand-printed, so if you’d like … Read More

Last month our good friends over at Knockaround collaborated with San Francisco brand and design studio, Benny Gold, to release a set of limited edition sunglasses commemorating the 75th anniversary of SF’s most iconic landmark, the Golden Gate Bridge. We were excited to have a small hand in the project, helping out with design and production of the 1937 Fort Knocks packaging pieces. We also made it up to the release event at Benny’s SF shop, shot video, interviewed both … Read More
A few weeks back the good people at A07 Entertainment & Media came by the studio to interview us. We are humbled that they find what we’re doing interview-worthy, and we’re always grateful for an opportunity to share our story and thoughts. We’ll keep the copy short and sweet as you’ll find we have plenty to say in the video. Make sure you keep tabs on A07, they are covering great things here in SD. Go easy on us, it’s … Read More
Sunday night was the grand opening of the Us Versus Them flagship store in downtown San Diego. It’s sufficient to say that we’re stoked they chose San Diego as the destination for their flagship, and even more excited that they’re on G St, only 5 blocks from the 8th and G clique (Product Etc, 5&A Dime, Neighborhood, HDQTRS). The flagship looks to carry the staple and commemorative Us Versus Them gear, as well as goods from City Fog Surf Co. … Read More
Yesterday was the 3rd annual Motor Union organized by our buddies at 5&A Dime, and hosted by Green Flash Brewing in Mira Mesa. It’s sufficient to say that it was a bad ass event, and a huge upgrade from the two previous Motor Unions here in downtown. We’re not really big car buffs, but it just so happens a lot of our friends are. What’s great about MU is that while cars are the main focus of the event, it’s … Read More
This Sunday we’ll be posted up at Green Flash Brewery for 5&A Dime’s 3rd Annual Motor Union. If you’ve been to Motor Union in the past then you already know it means good times. If you haven’t now there’s more reason to roll through and check it out — Green Flash’s entire parking lot, tasting room, and brewery cellar will serve as the ultimate showroom for this mish mosh of over 150 cars. This is the first time Product Etc™ … Read More
First off want to thank everyone we haven’t already thanked for coming out last Friday. We had a great time and we really hope you did too. Our buddy Nitty Hanuit Beat filmed, edited and summed up the night! Thanks so much Nit, you did a badass job dude. The song is off the Pyramid Scheme. If you like it, download it for free pyramidscheme13.com A very special shout out to 5&A Dime / Mitchell & Ness / Munito / … Read More
This Friday we’re going to be setting up shop for one night only with our good friends over at 5&A Dime. This will be the first time we’ll have our entire collection of 2012 Summer caps and tees available to take home with you (if you made it to our Brands, Gangs, Teams & Clans show at Double Break last March then you know what I mean). You can expect that we’ll be providing the music, drinks and product. Get … Read More
As cliche as it might sound, it’s all about the company you keep. What’s the point of anything if you can’t be in good company? If you can’t appreciate those you walk with or come across, then something needs to change. This post is dedicated to all the life I’ve had the privilege to photograph over the past month. Here’s to a great summer — Brent a.k.a. Ez Pennybagz. Pyramid Scheme Andre a.k.a. Dre Trav. Pyramid Scheme Team meeting Big … Read More

A couple months back we put an exhibition together over at Double Break that showcased some of our in-house brands and products that we had in the works. Since we were previewing these pieces we kept pretty silent about the post event wrap-up on our blog. Now that we will be releasing our new line of caps next week we felt it was only appropriate to share some flics with those that were unable to attend. On display we had … Read More
I had a decent assortment of portraits of some of our downtown friends and colleagues over the last couple weeks. They’re all stand-up, talented people, so if you see them around say “hi.” Matter of fact, since they’re all the best in the city at what they do, pay them a visit. This week I promised myself I would put together a blog post. We pretty much suck at keeping the blog updated, but it’s only because we’ve been busy… and that is by no means a complaint. Keep that busy coming, please! With that said, I’m promising myself that I’m going to post at least once a week. OK maybe not — but I’m going to damn well try. A lot of great things have happened since January, notably moving into … Read More
It’s been a while since our last post, and a lot has happened at PRDTetc™ over the last three months — we’ll do our best to fill you in over the next few posts. In the meantime, we’re really excited to announce an upcoming exhibition of ours at Double Break: Product Etcetera™ Brands, Gangs, Teams & Clans An exhibition showcasing our latest in-house brands and products. Brands, Gangs, Teams & Clans investigates branding, its role in society and personal identity. On … Read More
Earlier this year we had the great pleasure of meeting up with Scien & Klor from 123Klan for some lunch. They had just bounced from trying to paint walls in LA with Dabs & Myla, but they were hassled by the police and decided to hit up Disneyland instead. I’ve been an admirer of Scien & Klor’s work for a little over 10 years, so it was a lot of fun to meet them. It’s truly rad to see them … Read More
Our good friends at 5&A Dime hosted a packed house last night for their Dia de los Muertos collaborative release with Temecula-based brand Us Versus Them. Always a good time at 5D in-store events — lots of familiar faces, great conversations, good music, and refreshing drinks (lots of people meant drinks went quick). Not to mention the collaborative tee is pretty fresh, it comes in three different colorways, and you can cop them here.
Thanks to our homie Dre Trav (aka Lindbergh Gadgie) for supplying us with these sweet photos — representing his new Lindbergh Gadgie snap-backs with our PRDTetc™ tees! Check out Trav’s Tumblr for his newest hats, tracks and photos. Shout out to the team — Ez Pennybags, Sauvi, Damani MoniBeatz McDole, Marquelus Jackson, and Thovan Music and Photography. Much love and respect!
Eventful weekend. The prints below are from the James Quigley (a.k.a. Gunsho) opening at Double Break. The screen prints from his “Demonology” series are crazy wicked, so go check it out before November 6th. Anyways, I could say a lot about the video below but I won’t. All I know is October 8th was a fine day. Enjoy.
New PRDTetc™ and Westside Love ™ stickers arrived yesterday, and we can’t wait to see these start popping up around town. We’re still waiting on another batch to arrive, but in the meantime scoop up a hat, tee, or one of the few Bring Back The Brown — Fort Knocks we have left and we’ll make sure to HOOK IT UP with some of the new sticks. Happy Friday, y’all!
It’s already hump-day, so a little late on this, but this Sunday we popped into 5&A Dime for a birthday BBQ for Jay (the “recently shaved” mustache behind 5D). Food and drinks were generously provided by 5D, The Dude Blvd., Style Over Comfort, and Oniwagens. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to stay for very long, but were able to catch up with the homies really quick before heading out to watch the Chargers game. Some pics below — [portfolio_slideshow]
It’s always cool playing tourist in your hometown, especially when you live in America’s Finest City. This past Saturday my wife and I spent the afternoon hiking/running/taking in the beautiful scenery at Torrey Pines State Reserve. If you live in SD and haven’t been there (like me pre-this weekend), or if you’re coming to visit us — check it out! Perfect way to escape the SD urban and suburban life. “2000 acres of land are as they were before San Diego … Read More
If you follow us on Twitter, a couple days ago we retweeted photos posted by Padres All-Star closing pitcher, Heath Bell, showing off his pair of PRDTetc™ x Knockaround — Bring Back The Brown Fort Knocks. Next day, a photo surfaced on Sign On San Diego of Heath Bell and Grammy Award-winning San Diego rock band, Switchfoot — and he’s still proudly rocking his BBTB Fort Knocks. Heath, you the man!
August flew by. Judging by the title of this post, I can now understand why. Add a ton of work to that, and there really wasn’t a lot of time to be twiddling thumbs. Most of this stuff happened over two weeks ago, but since we took all of these photos analog with a recently purchased TLR Holga, it took a little bit of time to finish rolls, process and scan. You know, old timey stuff. Think instagram, just 1000 … Read More
Earlier this week we made the trip out to Vegas again, with our friend Robert from 5&A Dime, for the 2011 Summer Magic trade show. We didn’t have a booth, and still unsure as to when and if we ever will, but these trips give us an opportunity to meet people, shake hands, ask questions, and see how other brands show and represent themselves. While there we connected with new and old friends from Mitchell & Ness, Asics, HUF, G.P.P.R., … Read More
One of the coolest things about our work are the field trips we sometimes have to make for our client projects. On Wednesday, one of our current client projects required us to make a trip down south to beautiful Baja California. The goal was to collect imagery unique to Baja for a brand identity we’re developing for a Mexican seafood restaurant, set to open in Boston later this year. Needless to say, it was a pretty awesome day at work. … Read More
Sunday while Jordan was making his way back to SD from “Art In The Streets,” my wife and I hit up a little food. Whether you’re from San Diego, or just visiting, if you haven’t explored the food gems in the Mission Hills Business District you’re definitely missing out! There are a lot of must-try spots, literally within a few steps from each other. El Indio is a hot-spot amongst locals and tourists. Chips are bomb, and try the Mini … Read More
Yesterday, I made a bonsai drive up to the MOCA in LA to see “Art In The Streets” before it shuts down this week. I ALMOST slept on this, and I honestly would of kicked my own ass if I missed this show. If you didn’t make it in the flesh for whatever reason, I’m going to warn you that his post will not fairly represent this massive graffiti/street art retrospective. It was one for the history books kinda like … Read More
This past weekend we released the Bring Back The Brown Fort Knocks at 5&A Dime with our friends over at Knockaround. Sun was out, music was bumpin’, and drinks were flowin’.
