Earlier this year we had the great pleasure of meeting up with Scien & Klor from 123Klan for some lunch. They had just bounced from trying to paint walls in LA with Dabs & Myla, but they were hassled by the police and decided to hit up Disneyland instead. I’ve been an admirer of Scien & Klor’s work for a little over 10 years, so it was a lot of fun to meet them. It’s truly rad to see them kicking out jams like this after 20 years of working together. Cheers to them!
If you aren’t familiar with Scien & Klor (a.k.a. the 123Klan), they’re graffiti writers & designers from France now operating out of Montreal. When they’re not globetrotting to paint walls, or holding down their young family, they’re doing work with heavyweights such as: Adidas, Sony, Wieden Kennedy, Vans, Nike, Carhartt, Stussy, Mighty Healthy, Johnny Cupcakes, etc, etc.
They recently just launched a solo exhibition in Minneapolis called “Rien Comme Les Autres,” sponsored by Stussy and Ironlak. Turned out fresh! It features a large-scale 20ft x 30ft mural, which was painted on-site over 4 days, a number of framed prints of some of the Klan’s newest design work, all set within a “street scene” installation. Show ends December 16th, if you’re in Minneapolis make it happen!
