Torrey Pines State Reserve

It’s always cool playing tourist in your hometown, especially when you live in America’s Finest City. This past Saturday my wife and I spent the afternoon hiking/running/taking in the beautiful scenery at Torrey Pines State Reserve. If you live in SD and haven’t been there (like me pre-this weekend), or if you’re coming to visit us — check it out! Perfect way to escape the SD urban and suburban life.

“2000 acres of land are as they were before San Diego was developed -with the chaparral plant community, the rare and elegant Torrey pine trees, miles of unspoiled beaches, and a lagoon that is vital to migrating seabirds. One can imagine what California must have looked like to the early settlers, or to the Spanish explorers, or even to the first California residents here, the Kumeyaay people.” — Torrey Pines State Reserve website.
