Creative Friday / Week 18

For the past 18 weeks (19th today), every Friday at 4pm we’ve held a forum of sorts that we like to call Creative Friday. The rules are simple: if you’re present, you have to present. So you have nothing tangible? No big deal, we know you have something to share; so tell us a story, sing us a song, or if it fits you, do a little dance. The idea is to share with others, and be held accountable for … Read More

Pow! Wow! Hawai‘i 2014 Portrait

2014 marks the second year we’ve been invited as partners to participate in the annual Pow! Wow! Hawai‘i festival. Upon making arrangements to fly out to Hawai‘i, we let some of our friends and colleagues know what we had brewing. Two of our good friends decided to make the journey with us. Garvin Ha, film-maker and director, and rhyme-sayer Andre Travis (a.k.a. Dre Trav from WatsToday). The following images paint a broad portrait of what the Pow! Wow! and Oahu … Read More

Last month our good friends over at Knockaround collaborated with San Francisco brand and design studio, Benny Gold, to release a set of limited edition sunglasses commemorating the 75th anniversary of SF’s most iconic landmark, the Golden Gate Bridge. We were excited to have a small hand in the project, helping out with design and production of the 1937 Fort Knocks packaging pieces. We also made it up to the release event at Benny’s SF shop, shot video, interviewed both … Read More

PRDTetc™ — Brands, Gangs, Teams & Clans

A couple months back we put an exhibition together over at Double Break that showcased some of our in-house brands and products that we had in the works. Since we were previewing these pieces we kept pretty silent about the post event wrap-up on our blog. Now that we will be releasing our new line of caps next week we felt it was only appropriate to share some flics with those that were unable to attend. On display we had … Read More

Dia de los Muertos — 5&A Dime x Us Versus Them

Our good friends at 5&A Dime hosted a packed house last night for their Dia de los Muertos collaborative release with Temecula-based brand Us Versus Them. Always a good time at 5D in-store events — lots of familiar faces, great conversations, good music, and refreshing drinks (lots of people meant drinks went quick). Not to mention the collaborative tee is pretty fresh, it comes in three different colorways, and you can cop them here.

Knockaround x PRDTetc™ — Collaborative Release at 5&A Dime

Despite the tragic (“or just horseshit”) losing streak that took the Pads into the All-Star Break (together with any “very hopeful” hopes of post-season play), we’re still putting it down for the Bring Back The Brown campaign, along with our city, and we’re really excited about this one. Saturday, July 30th at 5&A Dime from 1:30pm-4:30pm. Music, drinks, and a Knockaround x PRDTetc™ product release. More details to follow…

Bring Back the Brown 3 — This Saturday

It’s no secret the Padres are literally having a hell of a time this season. We’ve been in last place since I can remember, we’re constantly within grasp of wins only to lose a majority of our games by one or two runs, and our loss to the Red Sox today with a rare pitching meltdown in the 7th was just awful. Yet, we will hold fast and continue throwing events in support of this city until we’re dead or … Read More

PRDTetc™ Pop-up #2, #3, #4, #5 Recap

So we’ve been lagging on putting together a recap on the pop-up shops we did late last year and early this year. We were waiting to finish a video that compliments the pics, but we’ll just get that up later. Even though these pop-up shops are a lot of work, we had tons of fun doing these and meeting new peeps in each city. Working with the crews, and unique spaces in each shop was also a great learning experience. … Read More

2nd BBTB “Crowd in Brown”

This past Friday we more than doubled our group size for the 2nd Bring Back The Brown “Crowd in Brown.” We were over 110 brown lovers strong, and this time we sprinkled the Bring Back The Brown posters throughout the stands. Despite this, the Jumbo Tron crew still didn’t show us any love, but we figure they can only ignore our strong support for the team and city for so long. We won the game with a walk-off walk in … Read More
